What is the meaning of the red numbers on GOLF BALLS?

Are they there for some unspecific reasons, or do they have a reason for being there? It doesn’t matter what brand of golf ball, they all have those numbers, often in red.

Hi, I’m starting to really get into golfing. I’m 20 years old, 6′3” and 160 lbs. I’m also a righty. I’m not sure if all that matters but I figured I just let you guys know.

Anyways, I wanted to know your recommendations for a quality and inexpensive golf set for a beginner like me. Also, if you can include where I can find such a set, I’d appreciate it. Thank you.

Golf Fitness Exercises to Alleviate Lower Back Tightness During a Round of Golf

Golf fitness exercises can be very beneficial in the alleviation of lower back tightness during a round of golf. We are turning our attention to the time spent playing golf. Yes, the actual round of golf in which your mind is probably not focused on core strength or flexibility exercises, but rather on how to get up and down to save par. Unfortunately certain situations, such as lower back tightness, which can derail your round. often arise. Today we are going to discuss some solutions to such a problem.

Overall the goal of golf fitness training is to prepare the body to play better golf. This will provide you the opportunity to get up and down from that green side bunker where you have an awkward stance, requiring more strength from the lower body and better balance. So, it does not come as a surprise that a question mark may arise in your head when we discuss golf fitness training during a round of golf. Or even more so how golf fitness training can help with lower back tightness.

It is not a common occurrence but there are certain situations where golf fitness exercises can be beneficial during a round. One such situation is lower back tightness: It is not a common occurrence during a round of golf to have your lower back “tighten up”, but if it does, it will play havoc on your golf swing. And we really want to alleviate such a situation and get you back to going after pins rather than thinking about a twinge in the lower back.

Before discussing how to utilize golf fitness exercises in such a situation, lets discuss what is happening to your lower back when it “tightens up” or becomes strained during a round. The biomechanics of the golf swing place large amounts of shear force on the lower back each and every swing. These shear forces stress the musculature of the lower back.

Over time if the muscles of the lower back are not strong and flexible. The stresses placed upon it by the golf swing will cause fatigue. Once the lower back is fatigued, the muscles of lower back will not function properly, and to protect themselves from injury they will shorten (i.e. “tighten up”). This can easily occur during a practice session or even round of golf.

This results in feelings of discomfort, possible spasms, and a decreased range of motion. All of which will take away from the execution of your swing. The long-term solution to this situation would be the implementation of a core program to increase the strength levels of the lower back. Unfortunately, during a round of golf we need immediate relief from the lower back tightness to get you through the round.

The short term fix or “band aide” to use in this situation is the implementation of a few simple golf fitness exercises. These golf fitness exercises will be in the form of flexibility exercises to stretch the “tight” muscles of the lower back. These types of flexibility exercises in the short term will alleviate the tightness in the lower back. Remember this is not a long-term solution, but rather a way to keep you in the game so to speak.

One such golf flexibility exercise I have found beneficial in such a situation is the Dog Down. The flexibility exercise is simple to perform, stretches the lower back, hamstrings, and takes little time to execute. Begin by bending over, allow the knees to bend, place hands on the ground, feet shoulder width apart, and your heels flat. Slowly extend the knees straight until a stretch is felt in the lower back and hamstrings. Hold this position for 30-45 seconds.

This exercise should provide some immediate relief to lower back tightness during a round. Repeat as often as needed, but keep in mind this is only a “band aide” or short term fix. To prevent such situations in the long term is probably best to implement a golf fitness program entailing flexibility and strengthening exercises for the lower back. Remember, golf fitness exercises can be beneficial during a round of golf, but even better is to adhere to a structured golf training program.

Is there any place in the Seattle area that rents quality golf clubs independently?

I’m travelling to the area soon and planning to golf. Most of the times, public courses don’t have quality clubs to rent from. I’m wondering if there are any independent places that rents them (like in Vegas).

My golfing buddy found out I was really only playing Golf because of the clothes you get to wear What do I do?

She’s quite angry that I really like the tops in the bright colors,and those shoes with the spikes on.
I dont really like golf, in fact I much prefer making small animal figures out of old christmas trees but as this is such a rare hobby nobody understands.

Dont know if this helps but I always work naked when I craft my animals, apart from when I make porcupines or owls.

Golf Fitness: the Easiest at Home Golf Fitness Program

How do golf and fitness go together?  Why do I need golf fitness training?  What difference would a golf fitness program make to my golf game?

I can tell you all about that from what I have seen with my friend and golfing buddy, Dooley Duffer. 

Dooley had been away from the game for some years.  His career and family took priority over his time and golf, although he loved it, it just would not fit into his schedule. As he advanced in his career he became less physically active. He even moved to a management position so time in the office was nothing like the work he had been doing.

His body began to show his change in lifestyle. Don’t tell him I told you this, but his middle seemed to grow faster than his salary. Bet you know how that story goes, huh?

He had only played very occasionally during that time. So I don’t think he realized how much being out of shape affected his golf swing performance.

Then Dooley changed companies and began to play golf regularly again thanks to his new boss who had recently taken up the game. With his kids grown Dooley now had more time to devote to golf and it only took one round back on the course to re-ignite the passion which had burned so brightly in days gone by.

As he began to play more often his physical limitations became a more and more of an issue. He struggled at times to finish a round; scores would escalate due to inconsistent swings, loss of concentration and general fatigue.  He would even huff and puff when walking up hills in spite of always riding a cart. I can remember having to wait for him to catch his breath before he could putt on elevated greens. No chance he could walk when he played.

Then over a few weeks I began to notice improvement in Dooley’s game. Less and less of the struggles I had noticed before and more successful golf shots, better concentration and less fatigue. He even began saying he wanted to play an extra 9 holes!

You see, conditioning is critical to your overall golf performance. And poor physical conditioning will certainly ruin your golf performance. Just ask Dooley about that.

What was Dooley’s secret?  Had he hired a golf fitness trainer? Did he use golf fitness videos? What had he done to improve his fitness for golf and his golf handicap?

Turns out he had not done any of those things exactly.  He said he found this golf fitness eBook called “Ultimate Golf Fitness Guide” by Mike Pedersen. Seems Mike’s eBook is about how to improve your golf fitness at home in less than 30 days. Mike says that the secret to lower scores and longer drives is all about getting your body to move just a little bit better.

Dooley said he that he took the advice seriously and began to feel results quickly. Then he began to notice he felt better on the course. That was very encouraging to him and he was able to keep at it. He had tried exercising before but soon lost interest but this was different.  He could see improvement and he knew why! The Ultimate Golf Fitness Guide had delivered on its promise. Dooley says this is the kind of thing anyone could and should do from home to improve their fitness for golf.

Having watched Dooley now for these past few months make such wonderful progress, I too can recommend “Ultimate Golf Fitness Guide”.  (Yes, I am on it now too.)

How do you know the price of a logo golf ball?

I sell golf balls, and I recently realized there are alot of logo balls sold on ebay. I never thought about separating them out, but I am now… The only problem is I dont know what to price the logo balls at; does any one know of a price reference guide or something of the sort?
There are some logos that people collect, I am trying to figure out which ones they are so I can sell them separately.
