Golf is going to get big in Russia
Here’s an interesting fact: in the entire country of Russia, there are only three 18-hole golf courses. Most of us have 3 full courses within 30 or 50 miles of our houses. Imagine only having three full courses in America.
Russia is one of the biggest rising economic powers in the world, and people are going to want to use that new found money to relax and have fun. People predict golf will be one of the fastest growing sports in Russia in the next 10 years.
The Russian Golf Association has plans to build 500 golf courses around Russia by 2018. The PGA tour makes a stop in Moscow to appeal to aspiring golfers. And last year, Moscow held its first ever Golf Expo show.
Currently, trying to golf in Russia is not easy. Since there are only three full courses in the entire country, you have to be somebody to play. Much like bouncers at a VIP club, unless you’re known, you will remain unknown. Hopefully in the coming years, that will change.
