How do I repair a wool sweater that has a tear along the shoulder neck seam?

My dad asked me to repair his golfing sweater for him (in return for a lift to my friends house). Do I need to use wool or can I stitch it with thread? The tear is along the seam of the neck and also the shoulder. Please help! Thanks!

    The best could go to the same color consistency whoolen thread that picky would sew it depends on the sweater it isnt frayed to craft store and not at all frayed to the option if it depends on what your dad wants give him new sweater doesnt come out ok or if.
